Ken Killam--Biography
I am native Pensacolian who attended St. Petersburg Junior College, Pensacola Junior College, and University of West Florida. I have an AA in business, a BA in English, and an MA in English. I began my teaching career in 1989 at PJC as an adjunct English instructor. In 1995, I began teaching high school full time at Catholic High, where I worked for five years teaching dual enrollment classes, Screenplay Writing/History of Cinema, and Creative Writing classes. I was also the adviser for the school newspaper and the literary magazine at Catholic. In 2000, I started teaching at Gulf Breeze High. I currently teach American Lit (English III, 11th grade), Screenplay Writing, and I am the adviser for the GBHS newspaper, Blue and Gold. In 2004, I became nationally certified. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Rena whom I met when we worked at Wendy’s. We have three kids, one boy and two girls, Kameron, Kyla and Kara.
